Panglipuran Bali Ancient Village is a small village near Kintamani area . The village that keeping an ancient local tradition and culture in this modernization era . The villagers live in harmonize with nature and live together in strong community system .

On our Bali Tour toward Kintamani we also decide to visit Panglipuran village . The village location is along the way back to our home . Approximately 20 minutes drive from Kintamani . The road are fairly good and wide with green nature and local farm . We need to drive approximately 30 minutes from Kintamani highland . Nice drive along villagers farm and traditional houses along the street . After the bamboo forest there’s a sign of the ancient village . We turn right and drive around 700 meters before arrive at the village . When we arrive we will see a big entrance gate and ticketing desk for the entrance . It’s cost you 40.000 rupiah per person and 2000 rupiah for the car .

We park outside the village where there’s a big parking lot . Inside the parking area there’s a big meeting hall building . We call that Bale Banjar , a meeting place and for some villagers even . The outside area of the village are well set up . There’s also a tourist information desk and on the other side there’s a public toilette . The entrance walk are well maintain with green garden beside the walking path . Some beautiful flowers , threes and green grass .

The beautiful village of approximately 270 family living in harmony with nature .

Panglipuran Bali Ancient village are is quite big area . The area including the residence area , bamboo forest and villagers farm . The overall area of the village is about 112 hectare . Which is divide by 37 hectare of bamboo forest , 49 hectare of the farming area and the rest is for local residence . The population of the village is around 750 peoples . Most of them are a farmer , on the other hand some of them working in the town in the tourism industry . Also some of the teenager are working on the cruise ship as well as working in other country . The area of the village inside is free area from any vehicle , therefore we can only walk to explore the village area .

Panglipuran Bali Ancient Village story

Panglipuran village is drive from word ‘ Pangeling and Pura which is mean a place to remember . Most of them believe that they are originally coming from the other village called Bayung Gede village . So the name of Panglipuran is for the purpose of remembering where they originally coming from . Because of that in Panglipuran they built the temple which is the same as the temple in Bayung Gede village . On the other hand Panglipuran also mean a resting place . In short Panglipuran mean a place to remember and also mean a place for vacation . And yet this village has become most popular vacation place for local peoples around Bali .
