Jatiluwih Rice Terrace is a huge area of rice terrace on the slope of Batukaru mountain . Green , beautiful and scenic view along our eyes can see further . Its just never ending view of rice terrace .

Jatiluwih rice terrace is a huge amazing rice terrace in Bali island . As a Bali driver and tour guide I have been visited this area countless number of time but still this place as one of my favorite place to recommend.  Disregard the bumping road to get into the place, you will get a stunning large amazing rice terrace view.  Especially during the summer day where you can see the view of three high mountain behind the village .  Jatiluwih village is located in Tabanan region, approximately 2 hours drive from  Kuta,  the center of tourist city in Bali  Island.

So will you bother to driver for two hours with a bumping road before entering the area?

I am sure you will say no, it’s just a rice field.  Isn’t a big deal .  But after seeing this few pictures bellow you will say ” made take me there!” .

Jatiluwih is a big agriculture village of rice farming industry where almost 80% of the village area is green rice terrace area.  Jatiluwih rice terrace recently awarded a UNESCO world Heritage site of the nature landscape and the traditional Subak system.  The irrigation system to share, to supply the water equally to each rice terrace.  An ancient great organization set by our ancestors long time before. This Subak System is involved all the rice farmer in the area . The system are  included the water source,  water canal,  temples in each main water source and of course the rice field.

As a tourism village,  the rice terraces are well set up with trekking route along the rice field,  restaurants and some guess house in the village areas . Day trip to Jatiluwih can combine with some interesting site along the area .  Such as Ulundanu temple,  twin Lake view,  Munduk  waterfall as well as Taman Ayun Temple .

Visiting Jatiluwih Rice terrace is a must things to do in Bali if you are nature lover . Drive to Jatiluwih is such interesting drive trough local village , valley and villagers farm . The name of Jatiluwih is drive from words Jati and Luwih which is mean really and good . This name is explain how beautiful , peaceful place to live .
